September

I have been enjoying going to the local farmer's markets recently. Everything has been so tasty! I love eating fruits and vegetables when they are freshly picked!

  Pickling and Canning
Recently, I have pickled  dill pickles  and bread n' butter ones.  They are very tasty!

Jonathan and I visited Applecrest farm in Rye NH. That's where we went peach picking, raspberry picking and apple picking.  We spent most of the day in the orchard, we had beautiful weather and it wasn't busy at all, we were the only one's in the peach fields. :) Pretty Amazing!

The raspberries are very ripe, once we got home we decided to try our first ever attempt at making jams. We made raspberry jam! Nothing compares to freshly picked berries that you turn into jam that same day. The color is a deep red and I can safely say it is very yummy!!

We made Peach butter and Apple butter. The peach butter was thick and creamy, would be good even over ice cream!! The apple butter, once cooking smells like fall!! Not only is making jam fun, but it makes your house smell so yummy!!

I picked up some tomatoes from Dodges farm stand in New Boston, (they have really great produce for a fraction of the cost in stores and its local) once I get home from work Ill be making tomato sauce and canning it for later this winter.

I honestly can say Ill be excited to crack into our stock of freshly made jams, and vegetables this winter!

I am not rushing fall harvest time, but that's when Ill be making applesauce, cranberry sauce, and making some yummy pumpkin pies!!!
Freshly picked Raspberries from farm to jar in less than a day! :)

Yellow peaches!!

Jonathan being cute! at the orchard
